Lydia Ogbe

) Lydia was born and raised in the East African country of Eritrea and moved with her family to the United States five years ago. She is thankful for the access to free education and has maintained over a 4.0 GPA throughout high school. Lydia continues to work towards her dream of working in the medical field by taking CNA and EMT classes in her few hours of spare time in between attending JROTC, as well as AP and college classes offered at her high school. Lydia hopes to bring healthcare to those in need who do not currently have access to it. Lydia graduated second in her class this June. She will use her CHC scholarships (from 2017 and 2018) to pay for tuition at UConn in the fall.
